About

Live music deserves a more personal stage.

HouseShow is a platform that connects independent musicians with hosts who have a space and a crowd. We make it easy to book, promote, and get paid for intimate live music experiences in homes, backyards, studios, and small venues.

Our Mission

Live music has been gatekept for too long. Venues charge pay-to-play fees. Booking agents take massive cuts. Fans pay $80 to sit in the nosebleeds. We believe there is a better way.

HouseShow exists to make live music more accessible, more personal, and more profitable for the people who actually create it. We give musicians a direct path to audiences and give hosts the tools to turn any space into a venue. No middlemen, no booking agents, no corporate promoters.

House shows have been the backbone of independent music for decades. HouseShow is the infrastructure that makes them discoverable, bookable, and safe for everyone involved.

How It Works

🎸

For Musicians

  • Create a profile with your music, bio, and streaming links
  • Browse available venues within 100 miles using the Venue Radar
  • Send booking requests with your proposed date and rate
  • Sell tickets directly through the platform
  • Get paid automatically after the show via Stripe
🏠

For Hosts

  • List your home, backyard, garage, or small venue
  • Browse available musicians by genre, price, and location
  • Accept booking requests and set ticket prices together
  • Promote the show and manage RSVPs in one place
  • Earn your share of every ticket sold at your space

The Revenue Split

HouseShow takes a flat 7% platform fee on every ticket sold. The remaining 93% goes directly to the people who made the show happen — the musician and the host. How that 93% is divided is entirely up to them. Both parties negotiate their split when the booking is created, so every show can have a different arrangement.

Example Splits

A musician might negotiate 70% and the host 23%. Or they might agree on a 50/43 split. A host offering a guaranteed payout to the artist might keep all ticket revenue above that guarantee. Every deal is different — HouseShow gives both sides the tools to agree on terms that work for their show.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Musicians and hosts receive payouts directly to their connected bank accounts.

Built on Trust

HouseShow is built on three pillars of platform accountability:

Ratings System

Both hosts and musicians earn star ratings from the people they work with. Ratings are public and help everyone make informed decisions.

No-Show Reporting

If someone doesn't show up, the other party can file a report. Three confirmed no-show reports result in automatic account suspension.

Dispute Resolution

Payment issues, cancellations, or other problems can be escalated through our dispute system. The HouseShow team reviews every case within 48 hours.
